Privacy Policy
As our patient you have a right to privacy as this relates to our medical care and release of medical information. On your first visit you will receive this policy for review and signature.

Wellness Programs
When you want to optimize your health state (nutrition, fitness, mindset, body composition and weight), but do not currently have a diagnosed medical condition, we refer to this as “Preventative Medicine”. We look at multiple aspects of your life to understand how choices work for and against wellness goals. We educate you about why and how to change. While this kind of care can be a vital component of your health care, preventative medicine has limited coverage when provided by a medical doctor. Thus, we are not currently billing insurance companies for this service in our wellness clinic.

Payment for Wellness
Services through the wellness clinic are “Preventative Medicine”. Health care coverage may be limited for preventative medicine. For this clinic, we do not bill insurance companies for our services. Payments are due at the time of care. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. You will receive a copy of your medical encounter and billing information to submit to your insurance company. Some policies may reimburse you for a portion of out of pocket expenses. Alternatively, Preventative Medicine does qualify as a service under IRS Health Savings Accounts. Please click on rates for cost of services.

The Rehabilitation Clinic
This clinic is for patients who have known medical problems or injuries. Lifestyle counseling and rehabilitation medicine is considered treatment for your medical condition, and provided under your insurance policy. Please check with your company to see if Dr. Jill Williams is a preferred provider under the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Lifestyle Counseling
As we make changes in your diet, add nutritional supplementation, reduce known toxins, and increase your level of fitness, you will see changes in how well you feel and function. This will lead to improvements in the disease states we target. However, we do not recommend you give up traditional medical care in the face of wellness success. We strongly recommend you see your primary care provider at the completion of our care. Your medical provider may stop some medications. However, some medications may very well need to be continued for certain health benefits, even if some of your lab tests normalize. We work with your provider to modify your medical care, as you get healthier.

Urgent patient care needs
If we need to be reached urgently, please page Dr. Jill Williams through the paging service. For those new to our clinic: Our care is lifestyle counseling and rehabilitation. We do not see or manage acute, new injuries. We do not provide primary care management of acute exacerbations of ongoing medical problems. We request all patients contact their primary care provider for any immediate medical needs or new injuries given we can not provide urgent care services.

Controlled Substance Agreement
Dr. Jill Williams will make detailed recommendations about the use of strong pain medication, such as opioids (narcotics) or other controlled substances, if relevant to the rehabilitation plan. In some cases, we will temporarily assume care of pain medication. We have a policy for review by the referring physician and patient. We have a controlled substance agreement for patients to sign.

Patient Care: Terms and treatment closure
We have policies regarding the nature of our care, the best duration of treatment, and when treatment should end. Many factors play a role, and we welcome patient and provider feedback in this process. This will be discussed at the patient’s initial visit.

Pain Management
We provide rehabilitation and lifestyle counseling for many types of patients, many who have painful conditions. Our approach to chronic, non-cancer related pain is multidisciplinary and holistic. We understand the importance of medications and interventions, though we are not pharmacologically or procedurally centered. As such, we do not function as a pain clinic, where long-term opioid prescriptions are provided. However, we understand how complex patient care needs can be. Within our rehabilitation care, we are able to work closely with primary care providers and assist with some aspects of interval medication management. We can assist with the referral to a board certified pain specialist, or if appropriate, detoxification.

Medication Prescribing and Refills
We will make medication recommendations for patient’s to discuss with primary care providers. In some cases, our clinic will assume temporary care of some medications. In that event, we have specific policies that our patients will need to review and agree to. We refill non-narcotic medications Monday through Thursday. Patients should call their pharmacy directly. We refill narcotics during clinic visits. Please schedule an appointment if concerns arise, as well as review the hard copy (not online) policy regarding our care.
